Documents for shipping freight from Canada to Poland
Start with accurate commercial invoice and packing information. Describe the goods clearly and provide their value, origin, quantities and packed measurements. The exporter, importer and appointed customs representatives should establish which declarations, permits or supporting documents apply to the shipment.

Canadian export reporting. Reporting requirements depend on the goods, their value, destination and any applicable exemption. Using a service provider does not remove the exporter's responsibility to meet the rules. Check the CBSA's Canadian export reporting requirements before shipping.
EORI and Polish registration. Confirm who will act as importer and which EORI number will be used. An EORI issued in one EU country is valid across the EU. For Polish procedures, have the importer or its representative check the company's registration on PUESC, Poland's customs and tax services platform. The official EORI registration guidance explains how a foreign company uses an existing EU-issued EORI in the Polish system; it should not obtain a second number.
CETA and origin. Preferential tariff treatment depends on the goods meeting the relevant origin rules and having the required origin declaration and supporting evidence. Shipping goods from Canada does not automatically make them eligible. Check the CETA rules of origin with the parties preparing the customs documents.
For broader preparation, use our Canada-to-EU customs guide. Confirm cargo-specific requirements before booking, especially if the goods may be restricted or require special handling.
